The foundation of Michael’s practice is based on a commitment to personal service and attention in every case. Michael believes in treating you with fairness and respect and making your concerns his top priority. In order to empower you with the ability to make the best possible decisions regarding your case, Michael believes that it is imperative to involve you every step of the way. Michael also believes that you deserve an attorney who provides prompt responses to your phone calls and e-mails and keeps you fully informed of all developments in your case.
Michael has extensive experience representing individuals charged with criminal offenses, and has represented hundreds of individuals in state and federal court with charges ranging from misdemeanors to serious violent felonies including murder, rape, kidnapping, bank robbery and human trafficking.
Michael’s undergraduate studies included biology, chemistry and physics which are particularly useful to his clients in determining how to challenge forensic evidence such as DNA, gunpowder residue, ballistics and blood spatter as well as chemical tests and blood tests using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Michael also has extensive experience handling family law issues including divorce, child custody, and child support from trial through appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court. Michael’s experience includes cases involving international issues such as foreign marriage arrangements that contractually incorporate Sharia law and dowry agreements, child custody arrangements involving non-US citizens residing in other nations, and issues involving the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.
Michael received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2008. He is a proud resident of Fayette County, Georgia. Michael is an active member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Fayette County Bar Association. Michael is trained and has served as a Guardian Ad Litem for the DeKalb Volunteer Lawyer Foundation.
Prior to practicing law, Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army, Georgia and Rhode Island National Guard as an Infantry and Aviation officer. During the course of his service, Michael achieved the rank of Captain and was a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot.
In addition to practicing law, Michael is a licensed commercial airplane and helicopter pilot and is a professional skydiver with over 4,000 jumps. He has trained hundreds of students to skydive and has participated in various state and world record skydiving attempts.
